I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May 2002. I was 44 years with no family history of cancer. Before and since my diagnosis, I've been very active in raising funds, support, and awareness to others.
- Volunteered at the American Cancer Society's gala, Creative Black Tie, for eight years being honorary chair and co-chair two of those years.
- Involved with the Breast Cancer Awareness Association for six years being co-chair three times. Now I'm also serving on the board of directors.
- Lobbied for monies with the National Breast Cancer Coalition-went to DC.
- Participated in the Danskin Triathlon ...I try to tell everyone I won.
- Sponsor 'Bust of Steamboat' for three years.
- Try to enter all walks and races that involve making money to support breast cancer research and education.
My husband and three daughters keep me busy. When not organizing the chaos, I love to golf, exercise, practice yoga, waterski, garden and ride my Harley Davidson. I've been blessed with tremendous energy and joy.

January 2002 my world was blown apart. Diagnosed with breast cancer, two little guys to care for and a rough road ahead. I desperately needed and received the support of many. After being cancer-free for over five years, I recently was re-diagnosed with breast cancer. I kicked it once; I'll do it again!
Whether it's you or someone you love, WE ARE All IN THIS TOGETHER. My burning desire is to help make a difference! My husband, Jeff, whose support was amazing, and myself have walked many, many miles in The Breast Cancer 3-Day, participated in Race for the Cure and currently on board with Creative Black Tie Gala. Keep fighting!

Wendy's Chai English Breakfast

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2003 at the age of 42 - the same age my mother was when she was first diagnosed.
To keep friends and family updated as I progressed through my treatments, I kept an online journal affectionately referred to as "Bald Wendy." I added chapters and photos so loved ones could understand how I was doing and so I didn't have to relive each experience with each telling.
My story has been shared and read by hundreds of people - many whom I didn't know. This helped me realize just how important it is to one's ability to heal to stay connected with family and to find others going through something similar.
