Kids making a difference in the
fight against breast cancer.
On a sunny summer day, Max and his buddy, Doug, eighth graders in Bloomington, hatched an inspiring idea. While they were putting together a flyer for doing yard work in their neighborhood, Max and Doug decided to donate a portion of what they earned to breast cancer research.
When Max showed their flyer to his mom she was in tears. Max’s mom, Nancy, has been an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society for years, and five years ago Max and his family were personally touched by breast cancer when Max’s aunt, Jacqui, was diagnosed.
Nancy realized that Max and Doug—GOT IT! They understood the power of giving and recognized that even as kids they could do something on their own.
Sparked by Max and Doug’s brilliant idea and commitment to raising money for the cure for breast cancer, Nancy, created the idea of thinkpinkkids as a way for kids to help discover the power of giving while helping find a cure for breast cancer.

Taking the queue from Max and Doug, thinkpinkkids is challenging all kids during to raise money for breast cancer research.
“Our goal is not to have kids asking for donations. Instead, we’d like kids to figure out how they could earn money on their own and give a portion or all to breast cancer research,” says Nancy Woodrich, founder of thinkpinkcollection.com. “We’d love to see kids raking lawns for the cause. The kids will learn a lot by taking on breast cancer cure quest challenge. They’ll learn a good work ethic, the value of money, and how to contribute to society.”
Whoo Hoo!!! thinkPINKkids begin funding breast cancer research!
Since October 2007 the thinkPINKkids have raised enough money to be funding a breast cancer researcher at the Univerisity of Minnesota, named the thinkPINKkids Research Grant. Dr. Deepali Sachdev, PhD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine is the proud recipient of the kids' hard work and dedication towards finding a cure for breast cancer.
Come back later and read Dr. Sachdev's research updates.
